How it’s calculated

Revenue per visitor

RPV = revenue ÷ visitors

Use net revenue (after refunds) and unique visitors over the same period.

Share of revenue

Share = source revenue ÷ total revenue × 100

Each source's part of the table's revenue. The total row's revenue per visitor is the table's revenue divided by its visitors, not an average of the rows.

Frequently asked questions

What is revenue per visitor?

Revenue per visitor (RPV) is the revenue a period brought in, divided by the visitors in that period. It combines conversion rate and order value in one number: what an average visit is worth.

Why compare revenue per visitor by source?

Visitor counts favour big, broad channels. A small source can bring fewer visits but far more revenue per visit, and that is often the channel worth more of your time. RPV puts sources of different sizes side by side.

Where do I get revenue by traffic source?

You need payments linked to the visits that brought them. traffic.cx imports payments from Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Polar and Dodo Payments and credits them to the source, campaign and landing page of the visit. See revenue attribution.

Should refunds count?

Yes. Use revenue after refunds, or a source that brings refund-prone customers looks better than it is.
